The third great commentary on an-Nawawi's Minhaj, completing the trio with Tuhfat al-Muhtaj and Mughni al-Muhtaj. Ar-Ramli (known as ash-Shafi'i as-Saghir, 'the little Shafi'i') provides meticulous legal analysis. When Egyptian Shafi'i scholars cite 'the relied-upon opinion,' they typically follow ar-Ramli.
