A highly condensed abridgment of Ibn Qudamah's al-Muqni, presenting the relied-upon positions of the Hanbali school in the most concise language possible. Despite its brevity, it covers all major areas of fiqh. It became the most widely memorized and studied Hanbali fiqh text, particularly in the Arabian Peninsula, with dozens of commentaries written on it, the most famous being ash-Sharh al-Mumti by Ibn Uthaymin.
