Call to Prayers (Adhaan)

Arabic Text

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ يُطَوِّلُ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الأُولَى مِنْ صَلاَةِ الظُّهْرِ، وَيُقَصِّرُ فِي الثَّانِيَةِ، وَيَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ فِي صَلاَةِ الصُّبْحِ‏.‏

English Translation

Abdullah bin Abi Qatada (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that my father said, "the Prophet ﷺ used to prolong the first rak`a of the Zuhr prayer and shorten the second one and used to do the same in the Fajr prayer
