Invoking Allah for Rain (Istisqaa)

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَافَى بْنُ عِمْرَانَ، عَنِ الأَوْزَاعِيِّ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلاً، شَكَا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم هَلاَكَ الْمَالِ وَجَهْدَ الْعِيَالِ، فَدَعَا اللَّهَ يَسْتَسْقِي، وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ أَنَّهُ حَوَّلَ رِدَاءَهُ وَلاَ اسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَةَ.
English Translation
Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a man complained to the Prophet ﷺ about the destruction of livestock and property and the hunger of the offspring. So he invoked (Allah for rain. The narrator (Anas) did not mention that the Prophet ﷺ had worn his cloak inside out or faced the Qibla
