Fighting for the Cause of Allah (Jihaad)
Arabic Text
وَعَنِ الز
ُّهْرِيِّ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الصَّعْبُ، فِي الذَّرَارِيِّ كَانَ عَمْرٌو يُحَدِّثُنَا عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَسَمِعْنَاهُ مِنَ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنِ الصَّعْبِ، قَالَ " هُمْ مِنْهُمْ " وَلَمْ يَقُلْ كَمَا قَالَ عَمْرٌو " هُمْ مِنْ آبَائِهِمْ ".
English Translation
It was narrated from al-Zuhri that he heard Ubaydullah, from Ibn Abbas, from al-Sa'b, who said regarding the children of polytheists killed in raids: 'They are from them' — and he did not say, as Amr had reported: 'They are from their fathers.' (A clarification of an isnad discrepancy regarding the ruling on non-combatant children in battle)
