Chain of Narration (Isnad)

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ـ رضى الله عنه أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَعْطَاهُ غَنَمًا يَقْسِ

مُهَا عَلَى صَحَابَتِهِ ضَحَايَا، فَبَقِيَ عَتُودٌ فَذَكَرَهُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ " ضَحِّ أَنْتَ بِهِ ".

English Translation

Uqba bin 'Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that that the Prophet ﷺ gave him some sheep to distribute among his companions to slaughter as sacrifices (`Id--al--Adha). A kid goat was left and he told the Prophet ﷺ of that whereupon he said to him, "Slaughter it as a sacrifice (on your behalf)
