وَعَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: { كَانَتِ اَلنُّفَسَاءُ تَقْعُدُ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اَللَّهِ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -بَعْدَ نِفَاسِهَا أَرْبَعِينَ } رَوَاهُ اَلْخَمْ

سَةُ إِلَّا النَّسَائِيَّ, وَاللَّفْظُ لِأَبِي دَاوُد َ 1 .1 - ضعيف. رواه أبو داود (311)، والترمذي (139)، وابن ماجه (648)، وأحمد (6/300) وقال الترمذي: "غريب".

English Translation
Umm Salamah (RAA) (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that during the lifetime of the Prophet ﷺ the women having bleeding after delivery (postnatal or puerperal blood) would refrain (from prayer) for forty days. .
