وَعَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ: { بَعَثَنِي اَلنَّبِيُّ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -إِلَى اَلْيَمَنِ, وَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ آخُذَ مِنْ كُلِّ حَالِمٍ دِينَاراً, أَوْ عَدْلَهُ معافرياً } أَخْرَجَهُ اَلثَّل
َاثَةِ, وَصَحَّحَهُ اِبْنُ حِبَّانَ, وَالْحَاكِم ُ 1 .1 - صحيح. رواه أبو داود ( 3038 )، والنسائي ( 5 / 25 - 26 )، والترمذي ( 623 )، وابن حبان ( 794 )، والحاكم ( 1 / 398 ). المعافري: ثياب تكون باليمن، نسبة إلى بلد هناك.

English Translation
Mu'adh bin Jabal (RAA) narrated, ‘the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me to Yemen and he commanded me to take the Jizyah from everyone who has reached the age of puberty-one Dinar- or its equivalent in Ma’afiri (garments of Yemeni origin).’ Related by the three Imams. Ibn Hibban and Al-Hakim graded it as Sahih.
