Chain of Narration (Isnad)

وَعَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ اَلْخَطَّابِ - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -يَقُولُ: { لَا يُقَادُ اَلْوَالِدُ بِالْوَلَدِ } رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ, وَاَلتِّرْمِذِيُّ, وَابْنُ مَاجَهْ, وَصَحَّحَهُ اِبْنُ اَلْجَارُودِ

وَالْبَيْهَقِيُّ, وَقَالَ اَلتِّرْمِذِيُّ: إِنَّهُ مُضْطَرِبٌ 1 .1 - صحيح بطرقه وشواهده. رواه أحمد (12 و 49)، والترمذي (1400)، وابن ماجه (2662)، وابن الجارود (788)، والبيهقي (8 /38).

English Translation

’Umar bin al-Khattab (RAA) narrated, ‘I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, “A father is not to be killed for his offspring.” Related by Ahmad, At-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah. Ibn al-Garud and al-Baihaqi graded it as Sahih.
