English Translation
It was narrated from Amr ibn al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ appointed him over the army of Dhat al-Salasil. He came to him and asked: 'Who is the most beloved of people to you?' He said: 'Aisha.' He asked: 'And from men?' He said: 'Her father.' He asked: 'Then who?' He said: 'Then Umar ibn al-Khattab.' He then named several men.
