Hadith #1533
Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاق ، أَخْبَرَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْ
نِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ :" نَزَلَ الْقُرْآنُ بِعَشْرِ رَضَعَاتٍ مَعْلُومَاتٍ يُحَرِّمْنَ، ثُمَّ نُسِخْنَ بِخَمْسٍ مَعْلُومَاتٍ، فَتُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُنَّ مِمَّا يُقْرَأُ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ "

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Said al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'O women, give in charity, for I have seen that you are the majority of the inhabitants of Hell.' They asked: 'Why, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'You curse frequently and are ungrateful to your husbands. I have not seen anyone more deficient in mind and religion than you, yet able to overcome a man of sound mind.' They asked: 'What is the deficiency in our mind and religion, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'Is not the testimony of a woman equal to half that of a man?' They said: 'Yes.' He said: 'That is the deficiency in her mind. And is it not the case that when she menstruates, she does not pray or fast?' They said: 'Yes.' He said: 'That is the deficiency in her religion.'
