Hadith #1685
Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْحَنَفِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ
عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" مَا مِنْ نَفْسٍ تَمُوتُ فَتَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ فَتَوَدُّ أَنَّهَا رَجَعَتْ إِلَيْكُمْ وَلَهَا الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا، إِلَّا الشَّهِيدُ فَإِنَّهُ وَدَّ أَنَّهُ قُتِلَ كَذَا مَرَّةً لِمَا رَأَى مِنَ الثَّوَابِ "

English Translation
It was narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'No soul that dies and enters Paradise would wish to return to you even if it had the world and all it contains — except the martyr, who will wish to return to the world and be killed ten times because of the honor he sees.'
