أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ

، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" لا يَزَالُ نَاسٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي ظَاهِرِينَ عَلَى الْحَقِّ "

English Translation

It was narrated from Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The martyrs are four: a man who believes and is upright in his faith, meets the enemy and is truthful to Allah so he is killed — that one is in the exalted ranks on the Day of Resurrection...'
