حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ هُوَ : ابْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ

، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ : أَنَّ أُمَّ عَاصِمٍ كَانَ يُقَالُ لَهَا عَاصِيَةُ ،" فَسَمَّاهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَمِيلَةَ "

English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the mother of 'Asim was called 'Asiyah, and the Prophet ﷺ renamed her Jamilah.
