أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا حَنْظَلَةُ ، ع

َنْ سَالِمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ أَحَدِكُمْ قَيْحًا أَوْ دَمًا خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا "

English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'For one of you to fill his belly with pus or blood is better than filling it with poetry.'
