Hadith #542
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ، أَنْبأَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَنْبأَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ ، أَنَّ أُمَّ كُلْثُومٍ بِنْتَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ أَخْبَرَتْهُ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ : أَعْتَمَ رَسُ
ولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ حَتَّى ذَهَبَتْ عَامَّةُ اللَّيْلِ وَرَقَدَ أَهْلُ الْمَسْجِدِ فَخَرَجَ، فَصَلَّاهَا، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّهَالَوَقْتُهَا، لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي "

English Translation
It was narrated from Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ once delayed Isha prayer one night until most of the night had passed and the people of the mosque had gone to sleep. He came out and prayed it, then said: 'This is indeed its proper time, were it not that I would cause hardship to my ummah.'
