Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ" جَلَسَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَكَبَّرَ، فَكَبَّرَ النَّاسُ خ
َلْفَهُ، ثُمَّ رَكَعَ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ، ثُمَّ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَنَزَلَ الْقَهْقَرَى فَسَجَدَ فِي أَصْلِ الْمِنْبَرِ، ثُمَّ عَادَ حَتَّى فَرَغَ مِنْ آخِرِ صَلَاتِهِ ". قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّد : فِي ذَلِكَ رُخْصَةٌ لِلْإِمَامِ أَنْ يَكُونَ أَرْفَعَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ وَقَدْرُ هَذَا الْعَمَلِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ أَيْضًا

English Translation
It was narrated from Sahl ibn Sad (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ he saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sit on the minbar, say the takbir, and the people said the takbir behind him. Then he bowed while on the minbar, then raised his head and stepped backwards to prostrate at the base of the minbar, then returned to the minbar.
