Hadith #845
Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ ال
رَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : حُبِسْنَا يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ حَتَّى ذَهَبَ هَوِيٌّ مِنْ اللَّيْلِ حَتَّى كُفِينَا، وَذَلِكَ قَوْلُ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى : # وَكَفَى اللَّهُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ الْقِتَالَ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ قَوِيًّا عَزِيزًا سورة الأحزاب آية 25 #،" فَدَعَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِلَالًا فَأَمَرَهُ، فَأَقَامَ فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ، فَأَحْسَنَ كَمَا كَانَ يُصَلِّيهَا فِي وَقْتِهَا، ثُمَّ أَمَرَهُ فَأَقَامَ الْعَصْرَ فَصَلَّاهَا، ثُمَّ أَمَرَهُ فَأَقَامَ الْمَغْرِبَ فَصَلَّاهَا، ثُمَّ أَمَرَهُ فَأَقَامَ الْعِشَاءَ فَصَلَّاهَا، وَذَلِكَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنْزِلَ : # فَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ فَرِجَالا أَوْ رُكْبَانًا سورة البقرة آية 239 # "

English Translation
It was narrated from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: 'We were detained on the Day of the Trench until deep into the night, when we were spared. This is the saying of Allah: "And Allah saved the believers from fighting" (al-Ahzab: 25). The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered Bilal to call the adhan and iqamah, then they prayed Dhuhr, then iqamah for Asr and they prayed it, then Maghrib and Isha — each prayer in its time — and this was before Allah revealed the verse permitting prayer in fear.'
