Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" مَا مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا وَمَعَهُ قَرِينُه
ُ مِنَ الْجِنِّ، وَقَرِينُهُ مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ ". قَالُوا : وَإِيَّاكَ؟. قَالَ : " نَعَمْ وَإِيَّايَ، وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ أَعَانَنِي عَلَيْهِ فَأَسْلَمَ ". قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ : مِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَقُولُ : أَسْلَمَ : اسْتَسْلَمَ. يَقُولُ : ذَلَّ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abdullah ibn Masud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet ☯ said: 'Every one of you has a companion from the jinn and a companion from the angels.' They asked: 'And you, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'Yes, but Allah helped me against mine so he became Muslim and only commands good.'
