Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا وَائِل
ٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" بِئْسَمَا لِأَحَدِكُمْ أَنْ يَقُولَ : نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ، بَلْ هُوَ نُسِّيَ، فَاسْتَذْكِرُوا الْقُرْآنَ، فَإِنَّهُ أَسْرَعُ تَفَصِّيًا مِنْ صُدُورِ الرِّجَالِ مِنَ النَّعَمِ مِنْ عُقُلِهَا "

English Translation
It was narrated from Abdullah ibn Masud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ☯ said: "It is bad for one of you to say he forgot such and such a verse — rather he was made to forget. So review the Quran, for it slips from the hearts faster than camels from their tethers."
