Hadith #2037
Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْلَى بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ ، عَنْ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : دَخَلْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يُوعَكُ، فَوَضَعْتُ يَدِي عَلَيْهِ، فَقُلْتُ :
يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّكَ لَتُوعَكُ وَعْكًا شَدِيدًا، فَقَالَ :" إِنِّي أُوعَكُ كَمَا يُوعَكُ رَجُلَانِ مِنْكُمْ "، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ لَكَ أَجْرَيْنِ؟، قَالَ : " أَجَلْ، وَمَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ يُصِيبُهُ أَذًى، أَوْ مَرَضٌ فَمَا سِوَاهُ، إِلَّا حُطَّ عَنْهُ مِنْ سَيِّئَاتِهِ كَمَا تَحُطُّ الشَّجَرَةُ وَرَقَهَا "

English Translation
It was narrated from Abdullah ibn Masud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said to the Prophet ☯: 'You seem to be suffering from intense fever.' The Prophet ☯ said: 'Indeed, I suffer as two men among you would.' He said: 'Then you have a double reward?' He said: 'Yes, no Muslim is afflicted with any harm — even a thorn prick — except that Allah expiates his sins, just as a tree sheds its leaves.'
