أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو حَاتِمٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ هُوَ رَوْحُ بِنُ أَسْلَمَ الْبَصْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ صُهَيْبٍ ، قَالَ : بَيْنَمَا رَسُولُ ال
لَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَالِسٌ إِذْ ضَحِكَ، فَقَالَ : " أَلَا تَسْأَلُونِي مِمَّا أَضْحَكُ؟ "، فَقَالُوا : مِمَّ تَضْحَكُ؟، قَالَ :" عَجَبًا مِنْ أَمْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِ كُلُّهُ لَهُ خَيْرٌ : إِنْ أَصَابَهُ مَا يُحِبُّ، حَمِدَ اللَّهَ عَلَيْهِ، فَكَانَ لَهُ خَيْرٌ، وَإِنْ أَصَابَهُ مَا يَكْرَهُ فَصَبَرَ، كَانَ لَهُ خَيْرٌ، وَلَيْسَ كُلُّ أَحَدٍ أَمْرُهُ لَهُ خَيْرٌ إِلَّا الْمُؤْمِنَ "

English Translation
It was narrated from Suhaib al-Rumi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet ☯ laughed and said: 'How wondrous is the affair of the believer! All his affairs are good, and this is for no one except the believer. If something pleasing happens to him, he is grateful and that is good for him. If something harmful befalls him, he is patient and that is also good for him.'
