حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْجَعْدُ أَبُو عُثْمَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا رَجَاءٍ الْعُطَارِدِيَّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ
عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيمَا يَرْوِيهِ عَنْ رَبِّهِ G قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ رَحِيمٌ : مَنْ هَمَّ بِحَسَنَةٍ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا، كُتِبَتْ لَهُ حَسَنَةً، فَإِنْ عَمِلَهَا، كُتِبَتْ عَشْرًا إِلَى سَبْعِ مِائَةٍ إِلَى أَضْعَافٍ كَثِيرَةٍ، وَمَنْ هَمَّ بِسَيِّئَةٍ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا، كُتِبَتْ لَهُ حَسَنَةً، فَإِنْ عَمِلَهَا، كُتِبَتْ وَاحِدَةً، أَوْ يَمْحُوهَا. وَلَا يَهْلِكُ عَلَى اللَّهِ إِلَّا هَالِكٌ "

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet ☯ narrated from his Lord: 'When My servant intends a good deed and has not yet done it, I write it as one good deed. When he actually does it, I write it as ten to seven hundred times or more. When he intends an evil deed and has not yet done it, I write it as one good deed. When he actually does it, I write it as one evil deed or I forgive it.'
