أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا حَرِيزٌ ، عَنْ شُرَحْبِيلَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ : أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ :" اقْرَءُوا الْقُرْآنَ، وَلَا يَغُرَّنَّكُمْ هَذِهِ الْمَصَاحِفُ الْمُعَلَّقَةُ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَنْ يُعَذِّبَ قَلْبًا وَعَى الْقُرْآنَ "

English Translation

It was narrated from Shurahbil ibn Muslim al-Khawlani that Abu Umama (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say: "Recite the Quran and do not be deceived by these mushaf copies hanging (unused) — for Allah will never punish a heart that has memorized the Quran."
