حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَنْبَأَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ أَبِي النُّجُودِ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ : أَنَّ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ كَانَ يَقُولُ :" يَجِيءُ الْقُرْآنُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَيَشْفَعُ لِصَاحِبِهِ، فَيَكُونُ لَهُ قَائِدًا إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ، وَيَشْهَدُ عَلَيْهِ، وَيَكُونُ لَهُ سَائِقًا إِلَى النَّارِ "
English Translation
It was narrated from al-Sha'bi that Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say: "The Quran will come on the Day of Resurrection to intercede for its companion — leading him to Paradise as a guide, bearing witness against him, or driving him to the Fire as a driver."
