حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، أَنْبَأَنَا أَشْعَثُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجَرْمِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ
الصَّنْعَانِيِّ ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَتَبَ كِتَابًا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْلُقَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِأَلْفَيْ عَامٍ، فَأَنْزَلَ مِنْهُ آيَتَيْنِ خَتَمَ بِهِمَا سُورَةَ الْبَقَرَةِ ، وَلَا تُقْرَآنِ فِي دَارٍ ثَلَاثَ لَيَالٍ فَيَقْرَبُهَا شَيْطَانٌ "

English Translation
It was narrated from al-Nu'man ibn Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Allah wrote a scripture two thousand years before He created the heavens and the earth, and from it He sent down two verses with which He concluded Surah al-Baqarah. If they are not recited in a dwelling for three nights, no devil shall come near it."
