Hadith #964
Arabic Text
وَكَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ خَفِيفَ ذَاتِ الْيَدِ، فَجِئْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَسْأَلُهُ، فَوَافَقَتْ زَيْنَبَ ، امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ، تَسْأَلُ عَمَّا أَسْأَلُ عَنْهُ، فَقُلْتُ لِبِلَالٍ : سَلْ لِي رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَيْنَ أَضَعُ صَدَقَتِي؟ : عَلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَوْ فِي قَرَابَتِي؟ فَسَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : أَيُّ الزَّيَانِبِ؟ فَقَالَ : امْرَأَةُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، فَقَالَ :" لَهَا أَجْرَانِ، أَجْرُ الْقَرَابَةِ، وَأَجْرُ الصَّدَقَةِ "
English Translation
Zaynab (may Allah be pleased with her) said: 'Abdullah was a man of modest means. I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to ask him, and I found Zaynab, a woman from the Ansar, asking about the same thing. I said to Bilal: Ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for me where I should put my charity — on Abdullah or on my relatives? He asked the Prophet ﷺ, who said: Which Zaynab? He replied: The wife of Abdullah. He said: For her there are two rewards: the reward of kinship and the reward of charity.'
