أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الل

َّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ " مَرَّتَيْنِ. قَالُوا : فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ؟ قَالَ : " إِنِّيلَسْتُ مِثْلَكُمْ، إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي "

English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said twice: 'Beware of al-wisal (continuous fasting without breaking).' They said: 'But you yourself practice wisal?' He said: 'I am not like any of you; I spend the night while my Lord feeds me and gives me drink.'
