Hadith #1015
Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّ
هِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَامَ الْفَتْحِفَصَامَ وَصَامَ النَّاسُ حَتَّى بَلَغَ الْكَدِيد، ثُمَّ أَفْطَرَ، فَأَفْطَرَ النَّاسُ، فَكَانُوا يَأْخُذُونَ بِالْأَحْدَثِ فَالْأَحْدَثِ مِنْ فِعْلِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out in the year of the conquest, and he fasted and the people fasted, until he reached al-Kadid. Then he broke his fast, and the people broke their fast. They would follow the most recent of the Prophet's ﷺ actions.
