Hadith #1035
Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :"
إِذَا ذَرَعَ الصَّائِمَ الْقَيْءُ وَهُوَ لَا يُرِيدُهُ، فَلَا قَضَاءَ عَلَيْهِ، وَإِذَا اسْتَقَاءَ، فَعَلَيْهِ الْقَضَاءُ ". قَالَ عِيسَى : زَعَمَ أَهْلُ الْبَصْرَةِ أَنَّ هِشَامًا أَوْهَمَ فِيهِ، فَمَوْضِعُ الْخِلَافِ هَهُنَا

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'If a fasting person is overcome by vomiting without intending it, there is no make-up required of him. But if he intentionally vomits, then he must make it up.'
