أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي س
َلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَقُولُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى :كُلُّ عَمَلِ ابْنِ آدَمَ لَهُ : فَالْحَسَنَةُ بِعَشْرِ أَمْثَالِهَا إِلَى سَبْعِ مِئَةِ ضِعْفٍ، إِلَّا الصِّيَامَ هُوَ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ، إِنَّهُ يَتْرُكُ الطَّعَامَ وَشَهْوَتَهُ مِنْ أَجْلِي، وَيَتْرُكُ الشَّرَابَ وَشَهْوَتَهُ مِنْ أَجْلِي، فَهُوَ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ "

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Allah Most High says: "Every deed of the son of Adam is for him: a good deed is rewarded from ten to seven hundred times over, except fasting — it is for Me and I will reward it. For he abandons his food and his desire for My sake, and abandons his drink and his desire for My sake. So it is for Me and I will reward it."'
