Chain of Narration (Isnad)

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهِ عَنْهُ

Body (Matn)

مَا، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَكَرَ رَمَضَانَ، فَقَالَ :" لَا تَصُومُوا حَتَّى تَرَوْا الْهِلَالَ، وَلَا تُفْطِرُوا حَتَّى تَرَوْهُ، فَإِنْ غُمَّ عَلَيْكُمْ، فَاقْدُرُوا لَهُ "

English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned Ramadan and said: 'Do not fast until you see the crescent, and do not break your fast until you see it. If it is obscured from you, then calculate it.'
