Hadith #1196
Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدٌ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَان
َ يَأْمُرُنَا أَنْ" نَرْمِيَ الْجِمَارَ بِمِثْلِ حَصَى الْخَذْفِ ". قِيلَ لِأَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ : عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ي said: 'Medina is better for them if they only knew. No one abandons it out of aversion without Allah replacing him with someone better. And no one remains in it bearing its hardships without me being an intercessor for him on the Day of Resurrection.'
