The Book of Purification and its Sunnah

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّهُ لَقِيَهُ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فِي طَرِيقٍ مِنْ طُرُقِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ فَانْسَلَّ فَفَقَدَهُ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى ا
لله عليه وسلم ـ فَلَمَّا جَاءَ قَالَ " أَيْنَ كُنْتَ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ " . قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَقِيتَنِي وَأَنَا جُنُبٌ فَكَرِهْتُ أَنْ أُجَالِسَكَ حَتَّى أَغْتَسِلَ . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " الْمُؤْمِنُ لاَ يَنْجُسُ " .

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) that :Abu Hurairah was met by the Prophet ﷺ in one of the streets of Al-Madinah when he was in a state of sexual impurity, so he slipped away. the Prophet ﷺ missed him, so when he came (later on), he said: 'Where were you O Abu Hurairah?' He said: 'O Messenger of Allah, you met me when I was in a state of sexual impurity, and I did not want to sit with you until I had a bath. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The believer does not become impure
