حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الأَع

ْمَشِ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ خَيَّرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فَاخْتَرْنَاهُ . فَلَمْ نَرَهُ شَيْئًا .

English Translation

Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that "the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave us the choice, and we chose him, and he did not consider it as something (i.e., an effective divorce)
