The Book of the Merits of the Companions
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَاهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سَالِمُ بْنُ نُوحٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ أُكَيْدِرَ، دُومَةِ الْجَنْدَلِ أَهْدَى لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم . حُلَّةً فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ فِيهِ وَكَانَ يَنْهَى عَنِ الْحَرِيرِ .
English Translation
Anas reported the king of Dumat al-Jandal presented to Allah's Messenger ﷺ the garment and lie made no mention (of the fact) that he prohibited the use of silk
