Ibrahim ibn Ishaq narrated to us, Ibn Mubarak narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz, from 'Atiyyah ibn Qays, from Qaza'ah, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه) who said: 'When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reached the age of forty, Allah sent him as a mercy and a bringer of glad tidings to all of creation. He used to go to every person he considered among the best of the people and say: "Indeed I am the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to you," and they would not accept him.'
