English Translation

Khalaf ibn al-Walid narrated to us, Ibn Mubarak narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn Iyas al-Jurayri, from Abu Nadrah, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه) who said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to go out on the day of Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr to the prayer ground. The first thing he would do was pray. Then he would turn to face the people while they were seated in their rows and would admonish, command, and instruct them. If he wanted to send out a military expedition or give a command, he would do so. Then he would leave.'
