English Translation

Waki' narrated to us, Dawud ibn Qays narrated to us, from 'Iyad ibn 'Abdullah ibn Abi Sarh, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet ﷺ gave a khutbah standing on his feet. Then he sat, then stood. Abu Sa'id said: The first thing he said was: 'Indeed this wealth is sweet and green. What an excellent companion it is for the Muslim, if he gives from it to the poor, the orphan, and the wayfarer. Whoever takes it without right is like one who eats and is never satisfied, and it will be a witness against him on the Day of Resurrection.'
