English Translation

Yunus narrated to us, Hammad — meaning Ibn Zayd — narrated to us, Bishr ibn Harb narrated to us, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought a lizard (dabb), and he said: 'Turn it over.' He turned it over, then turned it over again, then said: 'Indeed a nation from the Children of Israel was transformed, and I fear this may be from them.' He did not eat it.
