حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْعَلَاءَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ ق
َالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ عَنْ الْإِزَارِ فَقَالَ عَلَى الْخَبِيرِ سَقَطْتَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِزْرَةُ الْمُسْلِمِ إِلَى نِصْفِ السَّاقِ وَلَا حَرَجَ أَوْ لَا جُنَاحَ فِيمَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ فَمَا كَانَ أَسْفَلَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَفِي النَّارِ مَنْ جَرَّ إِزَارَهُ بَطَرًا لَمْ يَنْظُرْ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ

English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us who said: I heard al-'Ala' ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrating, from his father who said: I asked Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه) about the lower garment (izar). He said: You have come to the right person. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The lower garment of the Muslim reaches to mid-calf. There is no sin in what is between that and the ankles. Whatever is below the ankles is in the Fire. And Allah does not look at one who drags his garment out of pride.'
