حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ وَرَوْحٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ قَالَ عَطَاءٌ وَقَالَ رَوْحٌ

فِي حَدِيثِهِ قَالَ وَقَالَ لِي عَطَاءٌ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَجْمَعُوا بَيْنَ الرُّطَبِ وَالْبُسْرِ وَالزَّبِيبِ وَالتَّمْرِ نَبِيذًا

English Translation

Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ibn Jurayj informed us — and Rawh said: Ibn Jurayj narrated to us — he said: Ata' said — and Rawh said in his narration: Ata' said to me — I heard Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) say: We used to sell our female slaves who were the mothers of children (ummahat al-awlad) during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and Abu Bakr. When Umar came, he forbade us and we stopped.
