حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ الْمُنْكَدِرِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ لَمَّا قُتِلَ أَبِي قَالَ جَعَلْتُ أَكْشِفُ الثَّوْبَ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ قَالَ فَجَعَلَ الْقَوْمُ يَنْهَوْنِي وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَ
نْهَانِي قَالَ فَجَعَلَتْ عَمَّتِي فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ عَمْرٍو تَبْكِي فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَبْكِينَ أَوْ لَا تَبْكِينَ مَا زَالَتْ الْمَلَائِكَةُ تُظِلُّهُ بِأَجْنِحَتِهِمْ حَتَّى رَفَعْتُمُوهُ قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ تُظَلِّلُهُ

English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far and Hajjaj both (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that shu'bah narrated to us, he said: I heard Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir say: I heard Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله عنهما) say: When my father was killed [at the Battle of Uhud], I began uncovering the cloth from his face, and the people kept forbidding me. But the Prophet ﷺ did not forbid me. My paternal aunt Fatimah began weeping, and the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Whether you weep or not, the angels kept shading him with their wings until you lifted him.'
