حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْحَكَم

ِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ عَادَ مَرِيضًا لَمْ يَزَلْ يَخُوضُ فِي الرَّحْمَةِ حَتَّى يَجْلِسَ فَإِذَا جَلَسَ اغْتَمَسَ فِيهَا

English Translation

Hushaym narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Hamid ibn Ja'far, from 'Umar ibn al-Hakam ibn Thawban, from Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله عنهما), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever visits a sick person continues to wade in the mercy [of Allah] until he sits down. When he sits down, he is immersed in it.'
