English Translation
'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, Malik narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir, who said: I heard Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله عنهما) say: A bedouin came to the Prophet ﷺ and pledged allegiance to him upon Islam. Then the bedouin fell ill with a fever and came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'Relieve me of my pledge.' the Prophet ﷺ refused. Then he came again and said: 'Relieve me of my pledge.' the Prophet ﷺ refused. Then the bedouin left [Madinah]. the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Madinah is like a furnace — it expels its impurities and purifies its good.'
