English Translation

Sufyan narrated to us, from Humayd al-A'raj, from Sulayman ibn 'Atiq, a Makkan, from Jabir (رضي الله عنهما) that the Prophet ﷺ prohibited selling produce for years in advance [before the harvest], and he placed [the liability of] crop disasters [on the seller, i.e., the buyer is compensated if the crop is destroyed].
