Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ أَرْسَلَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ مُنْطَلِقٌ إِلَى بَنِي الْمُصْطَلِقِ فَأَتَيْتُهُ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي
عَلَى بَعِيرِهِ فَكَلَّمْتُهُ فَقَالَ بِيَدِهِ هَكَذَا ثُمَّ كَلَّمْتُهُ فَقَالَ بِيَدِهِ هَكَذَا وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُهُ يَقْرَأُ وَيُومِئُ بِرَأْسِهِ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ قَالَ مَا فَعَلْتَ فِي الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتُكَ فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يَمْنَعْنِي إِلَّا أَنِّي كُنْتُ أُصَلِّي

English Translation
Hashim narrated to us, Zuhayr narrated to us, Abu al-Zubayr narrated to us, from Jabir (رضي الله عنهما), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me [on an errand] while he was heading toward Banu al-Mustaliq. I came to him while he was praying on his camel. I spoke to him, and he gestured to me with his hand [to wait]. Then I spoke to him again, and he gestured to me. Then he finished praying and said: 'I was praying.'
