ُ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَسَمَّوْا بِاسْمِي وَلَا تَكَنَّوْا بِكُنْيَتِي فَإِنِّي جُعِلْتُ قَاسِمًا أَقْسِمُ بَيْنَكُمْ

English Translation

Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, al-A'mash narrated to us, from Salim, from Jabir (رضي الله عنهما), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Name yourselves with my name, but do not use my kunyah. For I have been made a distributor [qasim] who distributes among you.'
