English Translation
Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, al-A'mash narrated to us, from Abu Sufyan, from Jabir (رضي الله عنهما), who said: Fever sought permission to enter upon the Prophet ﷺ. He said: 'Who is this?' It said: 'Umm Mildam [the mother of fever].' He ordered it to go to the people of Quba'. They experienced from it something that only Allah knows. They came to the Prophet ﷺ and complained to him. He said: 'What do you wish? If you wish, I will supplicate to Allah for you to remove it. Or if you wish, it will be a purification for you.' They said: 'Let it remain, O Messenger of Allah.'
