للَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ بَيْعِ الثَّمَرِ حَتَّى تُشَقِّحَ قُلْتُ مَتَى تُشَقِّحُ قَالَ تَحْمَارُّ أَوْ تَصْفَارُّ وَيُؤْكَلُ مِنْهَا

English Translation

Yahya narrated to us, Salim ibn Hayyan narrated to us, Sa'id ibn Mina' narrated to us: 'I heard Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله عنهما) saying: "the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited selling fruit until it ripens (tushaqqi — begins to show color)." I asked: "When does it ripen?" He said: "When it becomes red or yellow, and is fit to be eaten."'
